Bollywood Actor Ajay Devgn to infuse Rs 600 crore in his multiplex chain NY Cinemas

Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn is planning to invest Rs 600 crore in his multiplex venture NY Cinemas Llp (based on the names of his children Nysa and Yug Devgn) over the next five years. The 50-year-old actor said that he is aiming to open at least 250 screens across the Northern and Western parts of India. Devgn added that the first launch of his multiplex venture is slated in June in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh. The NY Cinemas will target people who don't have access to modern theatres and live in remote parts of the country, said Ajay Devgn. Although he has not revealed much about the project but said that it will be unlike any other multiplex in the market. Online Furniture Startup Furlenco Bags Funding From Bollywood Celeb Aamir Khan

After Amitabh Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan and many others, Aamir Khan has shown interest in startup ecosystem by funding $1.2 million in an online furniture renting startup Furlenco. Bengaluru based furniture renting marketplace, run by Kieraya Furnishing Solutions Pvt Ltd, was founded back in 2011 by Ajith Karimpana, and offers furniture on a subscription based model in Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Pune. The funiture rental platform has raised $30 million in total equity and debt funding from Lightbox Ventures, Hong Kong-based venture capital fund Axis Capital and others till date. Report: Bollywood revenues may cross Rs 19,300 cr by FY17

Mumbai, Jan 4 (PTI) Revenues from Indian Film industry, Bollywood, are likely to cross Rs 19,300 crore by next fiscal, owing to aggressive marketing campaigns, growing contribution from overseas markets and improved quality of movies, says a study. The current estimated size of Bollywood is about Rs 15,500 crore.
