The Bangalore Metro Rail Authority is inviting emerging businesses to set-up their offices in five of its stations, following the success of 'Rsmakerspace', Workbench Projects, that opened at the Halasuru station in February 2015. "It is not like Workbench Projects, which is renting out space (at the Halasuru metro station) on a monthly basis. These (startup) outlets will be proper offices." Voonik, a Sequoia Capital-backed fashion marketplace startup which is focused on curated fashion has acquired three startups to build its premium fashion product Vilara. Voonik is attempting to strengthen its leadership in the unbranded fashion segment largely via acqui-hires or team acquisitions of startups in niche fashion offerings. Bengaluru based Voonik has now acquired five startups in the past six months. It raised $5 million funding from Sequoia Capital and SeedFund last year. Bangalore Based Food Startup Swiggy Raised Rs 47 crore

Online food ordering startup Swiggy has raised Rs 47 crore from existing investors Norwest Venture Partners, DST Global and Accel Partners. The value of Swiggy is now over Rs 865 crore or $130 million. Over the past few months, the company has also seen its order value basket size increased to Rs 375 per order. Close to 30% of these orders are cashless. Swiggy is also fulfilling close to 40,000 orders from the eight cities that it operates in including Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Delhi-NCR. NEW DELHI: Gurgaon-based Baxi will start services in Noida and Ghaziabad in the next few weeks as it expands operations and tap into the booming on-demand motorbike taxi segment. The company, which offers about 3,000 rides a day, is operational in Gurgaon and Faridabad in Haryana. "Before commencing operations in Gurgaon, we met the authorities and after certain changes were brought in, making motorbike taxis legitimate, we started operations there.
