Apparently taking a cue from the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today launched his own mobile app. Launching `Mobile App Shivraj Singh Chouhan, he said use of technology was crucial for a better administration. "This is an important step in a bid to offer an efficient administration and would prove to be a strong digital medium to connect with the public. This will enable the people to connect (with him) in a short time and they can share their suggestions and problems as well," he said. RBI Launches App For Android, iOS Platforms

The Reserve Bank of India today formally launched a mobile application version of its website on Android and iOS platforms. The application can be downloaded from the Play Store/App Store, using the keyword 'Reserve Bank of India'. To start with, the most accessed sections of the website press releases, IFSC/ MICR codes, bank holidays and current rates including policy rates and reference rate of four major currencies have been made available on the app. "There is a dynamic window on the top of the landing page of the app which alternatingly displays three public awareness messages - the new design currency notes of Rs 2,000 and Rs 500 denominations as well as RBI's message on KYC under the 'RBI Kehta Hai' series," the central bank said. Uber has acknowledged the use of a secret software program to steer drivers away from trouble, including sting operations by local authorities to catch law-breakers. Billionaire Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries has no plans to launch an app-based taxi service as the company sees no logic in diversifying into unrelated sectors. Chinese bicycle-sharing startup Mobike said on Monday it has raised funding in a new round led by Singapore state investor Temasek Holdings [TEM.UL] and hedge fund Hillhouse Capital, bringing its total new funding in 2017 to more than $300 million. The Shanghai-founded startup said last month it raised $215 million from a range of investors including Tencent Holdings Ltd, Warburg Pincus LLC and Chinese travel firm Ctrip.com International Ltd. Mobike also announced an undisclosed investment from Foxconn last month, in a bid to double the number of bikes it produced last year to 10 million in 2017. Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu will unveil the new policy for app-based cab service next month along with providing parking space and kiosks near major stations. The Railways at present earns about Rs 122 crores a year from parking spaces across the country.
