Shoppers Stop Eyes 2 Million Online Users, 15% Online Sales By 2020

Fashion retailer Shoppers Stop is looking at doubling its mobile application downloads to 2 million and 15 per cent sales through its digital touch points by 2020, a senior executive said. "We are following a four-pronged strategy to grow our business by enhancing the customer experience, offering a wider assortment, leveraging technology and focusing on innovation to meet our 2020 target of 15 per cent sales through digital touch points," Shoppers Stop Customer Care Associate and MD Govind Shrikhande told reporters here. "Our mobile application, launched six months back, presently has over 9 lakh downloads and we are looking to double that by 2020," he added. Pickmylaundry, a Gurgaon-based on demand laundry startup has raised $200k in a new funding round from Kedar Lele (a top level executive of a leading FMCG major) and existing investor GHV Accelerator. The startup has raised about $200K and had commitment of another $300K from a couple of angels. The new round of funding will use the newly raised funding in expanding its operations to entire NCR and explore opportunities in other cities. Microsoft Launches Messaging System “Microsoft Teams” For Businesses

Microsoft has launched a messaging system for businesses, Microsoft Teams, on Wednesday, putting it in direct competition with fast-growing startup Slack and Facebook's Workplace product. The new software will be part of Microsoft's Office 365 services, a cloud-based software suite that has more than 85 million monthly active commercial users. Facebook Inc's Instagram said that it will start tests next week on a new shopping feature through which users can buy products from US-based retailers via the photo-sharing app. Retailers will be able to showcase up to five products in a Instagram post, and clicking on the various tags will give users a lot more detail about the product than was previously available, Instagram said in a blog post on Tuesday. The app "IRCTC Connect" which aims to provide a one stop solution for various services can be used for booking tickets, ordering food from a favourite restaurant or finding hotel rooms of passengers' choice outside the stations.
