He then receives a response within 90 seconds about the possible delivery options, and the price quote of the service and product they desire. Once the user confirms the order, the team places the order with their affiliated vendor’s and use their logistic team to collect the order and deliver the product at the user’s doorstep. The company acts like the middle men between the user and the vendor. What makes it different from its competitor is the fact that it does not impose any delivery charges on any order (even if the order is just for a éclair). This is because the company’s desire is just to serve its customer and target the masses.
Another cool feature of the application is the personalization the firm has set to achieve. It’s smart programming, studies the users orders at different times and thereby provides personalized suggestions to its user’s based on their purchasing habits. The Team Behind IT –
The story behind the idea is more intriguing than the idea itself. The team consists of IIT-ians, who have left their comfortable, high paying jobs just to come together and provide a simple life solution to all. The idea originated when the two founders (Nishant and Sahil) got the cravings for biryani after a long day at work, and realized the expense of travelling to the restaurant and back was actually more than the biryani itself. They tried using some of the pre-existing application at the time, however this just added to their misery as they needed to make the decision of what application they could use, and from where they would get their dinner. It motivated them to create a new platform, which would be hassle free and aimed at simply getting the work done. It just so happens that the cravings for biryani and wanting to learn more on making life easier became the motivation behind the creation of the idea. In fact, the entire team is united by the idea of learning and providing their user with the simplest experience and thereby enabling the users to use the time saved to explore their hobbies, or just spend time with family.
The process of developing AASAAN, was not so AASAAN. Various difficulties came along their way, which included, building a stable team, finding investments and all the startup jazz. This however, did not stop the founders, and their persistence and commitment to serve the people has got them to serve to almost around 6000 customers within two months of launching.
The application which is highly active in the Andheri region of Mumbai is increasing its operational radius exponentially every day. With more vendors on board every day and the increasing customer database, this app will be reaching towards a national coverage and an international network in the foreseeable future.
