As Startup movement soaring up in India, so there is some war of words would be exchanged as well. To sustain their model and to be in positive cash model, startups are trying to implement every kind of opportunity (By Hook or Crook).
In its blog India’s leading Auto aggregator Jugnoo, accused Ola of poaching employees and taking its employee and driver database to disrupt business in its hometown Chandigarh, ahead of Ola’s plan to launch its auto rickshaw hailing service in the city.
Dear Ola,
You got us all confused now. First you ignore us, then you laugh at us, then you fight us and finally, I am guessing here, we win! (Fist punch)
If this is what you are trying to do, then we accept the compliment and I promise, will keep running this marathon just like we always have been.
But whether or not that’s what you are doing, don’t you think doing it with a little bit of dignity would go a long way? I mean, I get it, we are kicking your ass, and it must be tough when you have to inflate (over double) your numbers in press to prove you are “winning” against Uber and Jugnoo doesn’t “exist”. Then why all this attention and love?1
Amidst the “intolerant India” frenzy that we are in, to come up with a plan of bribing someone to join our team and discriminating on the basis of religion, that’s just sad and cheap. We thought, let’s just see what happens and guess what, drivers started calling us in a few days telling us what had happened. All we had to do was act surprised.
Attempts to bribe people for sharing our employee database, isn’t that a little too predictable? If with all that VC money you can’t afford a decent job portal for yourselves, don’t you think, you are getting the fundamentals all wrong?
Isn’t it a little absurd and an immature way of building a team? I just want to learn here, does this really work? Don’t answer that, that was a rhetoric. Listening to all the Taxi for Sure folks you mistreated and fired after the “deal” tells me that for you guys, culture is everything and you like it toxic. Talk to hundred cab drivers and they will all say- ola has 30 people in every office and they just keep fighting each other, Uber has 4 people in an office and things get done. I guess time to learn a few things from the big brother, not that you don’t already “learn” everything already from them. 😉
Your approach of acting up like a rich adolescent kid, who thinks that he can mow everyone under his Ferrari is reeking of insecurities.
With such gimmicks, you have just given more power to the cockroach. The traction meter is going ka-ching at Jugnoo and when biggies like you resolve to such antics, we get more confident in our plan because it just tells us that we are doing all the right things.
So, please keep doing what you do best and we will keep doing what we have always been doing.
As for those who are just starting their career, come to Jugnoo. If you don’t make the cut, we will get you in Ola for double the salary. 😉
