As a volunteer firefighter and a family man with three children and a wife, The Smoke Shield System founder, Dr. Nicholas Welch feels the gravity and importance of fire safety. He has seen the impact of the unthinkable first-hand toxic smoke’s impact on lungs and tragic loss of life during a fire.
The problem is, emergency responders need time to get to families if they cannot escape their home, high-rise or apartment in the event of a fire. Currently, nothing on the market addresses this need, but Smoke Shield creates safety and therefore peace of mind.
Dr. Nicholas Welch explains, “The Smoke Shield System saves minutes to save lives. My three children mean the world to me. As a family man, I am constantly concerned about their safety. How does Smoke Shield work?
The Smoke Shield System provides up to an hour of breathable air by turning any small space or closet into a safe space. This breathable air is essential if escape becomes impossible, so emergency responders have time to get to your family.
It detects smoke and automatically turns on. Two specialized filter compartments are built into the system to remove the toxic gases in smoke. It is battery operated, installable in any standard closet or small enclosed space, and automatically starts in the presence of smoke.
It also alerts emergency responders where you are in the home with a blinking LED light, so they can bring a family to safety.
