Twitter Removes 2 lac Followers From Amitabh Bachchan’s Account

On what is termed to as Twitter’s bot crackdown by the outer world, many account holders including Amitabh Bachchan lost thousands of followers overnight.

Twitter that is reviewing its services and making changes on the platform for a safer online social experience got into an argument with the users as many of them lost considerable number of followers in a night. One of them was Senior Bachchan who tweeted about the matter last evening.

Not only Big B but many other known personalities from the outer world tweeted about the same and the possible reasons that led to such an event. They used #TwitterLockOut to demonstrate their concern.

However, a Twitter spokesperson explained,

“Twitter’s tools are apolitical, and we enforce our rules without political bias. As part of our ongoing work in safety, we identify suspicious account behaviours that indicate automated activity or violations of our policies around having multiple accounts, or abuse. We also take action on any accounts we find that violate our terms of service, including asking account owners to confirm a phone number so we can confirm a human is behind it. That’s why some people may be experiencing suspensions or locks. This is part of our ongoing, comprehensive efforts to make Twitter safer and healthier for everyone.”

Twitter has been deleting accounts as a practice of maintaining genuineness. It removes fake account from time to time and the current doing is referred to the former implementation. In the course of such pursuit some legitimate users were also temporarily locked out of their accounts.
