It is a very well known news and a common one that Indian startup culture is moving as fast as fire. What’s more interesting is that these days startup atmosphere is breaching the campuses of young nuts too. Latest example was recently concluded first commerce background college startup showcase event “STARTUP SKIRMISH at SRCC”, need not to tell the best commerce institute of the country.
Skirmish started a week of its date with inviting applications for startup showcase. Out of hundreds of applications, 12 were selected for a 12 minute pitch to some of the fine investor personalities and mentors likes of Anuj Pulstya and Siddhant Bhansali from 91springboard, Prerit Mittal and Sandro Stephen form IAN and Dr. Ritesh Malik.
Startups and ideas gathered from the various destinations across the country represented themselves with uniqueness at the par at SKIRMISH.
A team of three aspiring minds represented their startup, “Those In Need” with a platform that connects volunteers to their intended NGOs. According to the team’s analysis, 75% of young people want to volunteer and there are over 1.3 million NGOs, so there should be a platform that makes a bridge in between the two. The feature set included common platform, Greater societal impact, Corporate social responsibility, Holistic youth development. From researching and planning to organizational setups, everything is on the go. An appreciated idea by the investors.
Another startup from Indore showcased their idea “Payadda”, a place for all type payment transactions. Started from the home city startup has scaled up in Delhi NCR also.
Another one was Eduventures, with an interesting concept of Develop systems for rural & small scale industries, Changing security scenarios, new sector openings, Large demand for modernization., Current scenario- meet demands. According to the team, Indian market size of the domain in which they are, is evaluated at a whooping INR 20,000 crores.
Moving on to the winners, second runners up position was secured by Half Horns, a Consumer brand, an open source contributory community making fun graphics by implementing fun and quirk and epitomes of expression. Currently they are selling Mobile covers, Mugs, Coasters, Notebooks etc.
One of the most exciting showcases Robo Aircraft, bagged first runners up position. The venture deals in manufacturing of drones for the betterment of society in various ways, such as Police patrolling, Defense, Security and Ariel surveillance, Delivery of goods, Media coverage, Protecting wildlife, Research & rescue, Traffic assistance, Disaster management operations and much more. The startup has already sold many products and is targeting at a future growth of INR 150 crores.
Fetcch, An automatic query resolver cum chatbot agent which is redefining the way of customer service by providing instant resolution and advanced customer sentiment analysis won the first spot. Some of the key features of the concept are ClickToChat/ClickToCall and converting services to sale. The venture is already serving the second largest private bank of the country – ICICI Bank and in process to provide services to Paytm.com.
