Sequoia and Accel Partners together invest Rs 51.2 crore in WizRocket

For the first time, Sequoia Capital and Accel Partners, leading VC firms have been seen to invest together. The VC firms have reportedly invested $ 8 million (Rs 51.2 crore) in WizRocket, a user engagement and mobile analytics platform, based in Mumbai.

WizRocket was co- founded by a group of  former executives from Network 18, Sunil Thomas, Suresh Kondamudi and Anand Jain in July 2013. WizRocket, essentially is a Saas company which facilitates user engagement via push notifications, email marketing across mobile and web. It makes it easier for the marketers and developers to understand the user’s interest and segments users based on their behaviour.

Anand Jain, Co-Founder of WizRocket, who also founded Burrp! said,”By building intelligence into our platform, we offer marketers and developers a powerful way to understand and customise the user experience”.
The company had earlier raised $ 1.6 million from Accel Partners and so far has raised a total of $ 9.6 million.

Wiz Rocket plans to utilise the capital to launch a new platform and develop an API, to enable integration, for the developers.

An official from Sequoia Capital explained that WizRocket leverages two of the trending aspects in the technology, which are mobility and analytics.

WizRocket claims to have been serving 350 companies across the globe through its product. Some of the companies are Zovi, BookMyShow, Disqus, Freecharge, Disqus, iXiGo, Explara, Instamojo and Pricebaba.
