Self-proclaimed ethical hacker, Ankit Fadia, has been allegedly appointed as one of the brand ambassadors for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India initiative. On his Facebook page Fadia posted a photo of a certificate issued by the department of electronics and information technology, which states that he is a brand ambassador for the Digital India initiative.
The certificate is dated July 1, 2015.
“Humbled and honoured to be appointed as one of the Brand Ambassadors to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India initiative,” wrote Fadia in a Facebook post on his official page.
Fadia, rose to fame at the age of 17, after he claimed that he defaced the website of Chip — a popular computer and communications magazine.
Back in June, the Digital India programme was unveiled and at the time, the government had announced that it would pluck out young tech entrepreneurs like Sachin and Binny Bansal of Flipkart, Snapdeal’s Kunal Bahl and Micromax’s Rahul Sharma.
Fadia is a strange choice considering he isn’t an entrepreneur in the truest sense and is considered more of a security expert. However, many even contest that claim and say that Fadia is hardly a hacker in the mould of famous hackers like Kevin Mitnick or Kevin Poulsen.
But the News not goes down well on Twitter. Mostly people are ridiculing and mocking the alleged appointment due to his fake proclaimed hacker.
Maybe Ankit Fadia hacked into the PMO and got himself appointed Brand Ambassador for Digital… hehe… too impossible to even be a joke.
