After the launch of super-cheap 4G services in India, Reliance is once again set to create a wave of disruption in the market.
Billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. is likely to launch its 4G-VOLTE enabled smartphone for an unbelievable pricing of just Rs 500. As per the source by ET, the launch may be announced at its parent Reliance Industries’ annual general meeting which will be duly held on July, 21 2017 .
With this Reliance Jio can once again cause disruption in the market if the Jio 4G phone is launched at price of Rs 500. According to a Financial Express report, Reliance Jio is also in talks with Techchain and Uniscope( Chinese manufacturers) for the its 4G-VOLTE phone. Although the pricing is very dynamic for now all the rumor-based reports.
“Jio is likely to price its 4G-VOLTE feature phone at a paltry Rs 500 (sub-$8) to lure 2G subscribers to directly switch to 4G”, “Jio subsidising each handset by as much as $10-15 (Rs 650-975)”, said Rajiv Sharma, HSBC director and telecoms analyst.
Reliance believes that they may undergo around 18-20 million orders for 4G smartphone during July itself.
The telecom operator, apart from that has also launched a JioGST Starter Kit where the users will get 24GB of 4G data with free voice calls for one year, a JioFi device, a billing app and a Jio SIM for just Rs 1999, with doorstep activation in some selected cities, all across the nation.
Along with this, it provides a 1-year access to Jio billing application with a pre-installed catalog for thousands of electronic products, grocery & consumer with tax codes. The app as such requires no external printer and gives daily summary invoices for full GST compliance.
