The viewership of the Rajya Sabha Television on YouTube has been extensively increasing since the last 10 months. The number of viewership on the channel has crossed 1 million subscribers at present.
According to the statement, the parliament-owned broadcaster is ahead from various other popular and well-known privately owned news channels that include India Today, NDTV India, Republic TV, CNBC Awaaz, News X, CNBC TV18 and WION. Along with this, it also stated that the list includes many public broadcasters as well such as DD News and Lok Sabha TV.
RSTV’s YouTube channel is the official channel of the Upper House of the Indian Parliament. It started its YouTube operations in 2011 and the channel then attracted over 10 Lakh YouTube subscribers. It entered the “million-plus club” of eight news and current affairs channel on June 12. The YouTube channel has got a boost in the last 10 months and is expected to grow even more.
The statement recorded, “Of the total subscriber base of over one million, RSTV gained 5.74 lakh new subscribers during the last ten months. This is an increase of 135 percent over the subscriber base of 4.25 lakh acquired during the six years period from September 2011 to August 2017.”
The record of Youtube video views which earlier used to be around 15.19 crore of RSTV since its launch in 2011, has now increased to 7.77 crore views during the last 10 months, accounting for almost half of the total views. With the increase in subscribers as well as youtube views, the public broadcaster is all set to lead in the race of technology world and be ahead of all the other private and public broadcasters.
