A lot of emotions are shared daily on Facebook. Some are the happy ones, or thought-provoking or sad or depressing. People have always been suggesting Facebook to add a button for “dislike” or do something so that people can also express them grieves. People have been looking for a mid-way between “Like” and “Comment” feature of the Facebook.
” We’ve been listening to people and know that there should be more ways to easily and quickly express how something you see in News Feed makes you feel. That’s why today we are launching Reactions, an extension of the Like button, to give you more ways to share your reaction to a post in a quick and easy way”, says company spokesperson Facebook.
HOW TO DO IT: To add a reaction, hold down the Like button on mobile or hover over the Like button on desktop to see the reaction image options, then tap either Like, Love, Haha, Wow, Sad or Angry.
Facebook has been researching in this direction since last year. Beside conducting many surveys, they have been observing what kind of reaction and emoticons and stickers people are generally commenting in several kind of updates in the News Feed.
This feature will be available on both, the website and the mobile application of Facebook and is very easy. The social media giant might also consider adding more reactions in future.
“We have been testing Reactions in a few markets since last year, and have received positive feedback so far. Today, we’re excited to offer it to everyone who uses Facebook around the world. We will continue learning and listening to feedback to make sure we have a set of reactions that will be useful for everyone. We hope you enjoy the new Reactions!” says social media in a post.
