Now, a Student-Run Internet-Based Radio Station`Radio G`

With the launch of its internet-based radio station, Radio G, the G.D. Goenka University has given the students an opportunity to get trained in radio journalism.

The first broadcast featured an interview of Dr. Deependra Kumar Jha, Pro Vice Chancellor of the University. Congratulating the School of Communication on the launch, he said, “I am very happy at the launch of Radio G. It will give the students an opportunity to get hands on training.”

The radio station, which has been set up by the School of Communication, will be run by the students of the Communication School.

According to Prof. Sunil Saxena, “Radio G will be used to train undergraduate and post-graduate students to create programmes that can be broadcast live and can be heard across the world. The programmes that the students will create, as part of their training, will include radio features, interviews, panel discussions, etc.”

The students will also be encouraged to record entertainment programmes featuring songs and radio plays and create radio jingles. The programmes will be recorded in the state-of- the-art radio studio set up by the G.D. Goenka University. The studio will also be used to teach students how to edit audio files.
