Google Hosts Four-Day Mentorship Bootcamp For Indian Startups

In an attempt to support growing number of Startups, focussed on building solutions to “Solve for India”, Google India conducted a four-day mentorship Bootcamp for teams of 10 Indian startups.

Kartik Padmanabhan, Developer Relations Lead at Google India spoke about the objective of launching the programme and said,

We are aiming to build a bridge between startups and the industry ecosystem and provide them with the right technical support and mentorship to help them succeed. We have shortlisted 10 startups from 160 homegrown startups after traveling across 15 cities in India, are now ready to scale this pilot as a dedicated program for India.

“Solve for India” was launched last year as an Indian-only pilot by Google Developers Launchpad Team. It is an initiative that aims to bring the best Google expertise across product, UX/UI latest technologies including machine learning and AI to help emerging startups focused on building solutions that can serve India’s need.

The boot camp witnessed participation from many founder startups including PregBuddy, LegalDesk, PaySack, Nebulaa, Slang Labs, FarMart, Meesho, Pratilipi, and M-Indicator.

 

Paul Ravindranath G, Program Manager at Google India spoke about plans to scale the programme and said,

We have focussed on building the right mentorship network to support the challenges faced by these startups from last 10 months. And I am elated to share we will be expanding the mentoring support beyond this boot camp, by launching a structured mentorship program for startups who are using machine learning and artificial intelligence to Solve for India and run this as an ongoing effort.

 

Google is one of the myriad technology majors that has been closely watching tech entrepreneurs in India and over the years it has witnessed an exponential growth in startup and entrepreneurial activity that goes beyond metropolitans in the country.

Startup culture in India is gaining momentum in the country at a rapid rate. And, with tech companies like Google and its focussed programmes like Solve for India at the center, not only the startups are in gain but India can now also look forward to the dissemination of information to nurture the ecosystem and to  move towards a positive growth.
