Raheel Khursheed Becomes Snap’s Country Head

The former head for Twitter news for India, Raheel Khursheed has now been appointed as the country head of disappearing message application Snap. Khursheed is Snap’s first India hire and is likely to lead India operations for the company.

“I recently started an all encompassing role at @Snap – leading the market entry of the world’s largest camera app into the Indian landscape. My official designation is country expert, India,” tweeted Khursheed on the social site Twitter.

Last year, Evan Spiegel, Snap CEO found himself in the midst of a controversy where he allegedly called India “too poor” for Snap’s expansion in one of his internal meetings, but the company had disputed this claim made by a former employee and has now built an image in the market of social media.
