Facebook Officialy Introduces New Tool For Enterprises – Workplace

The social media giant added one more tool in its kitty, which helps enterprises at work called workplace. Facebook introduced Workplace (formerly known as Facebook at Work) as a pilot project about a year and a half ago adding some big companies and startups.

Starbucks, Godrej, Yes Bank, auto rickshaw aggregator Jugnoo and logistics company Delhivery are the clients for this project. Now, more than 1,000 organizations around the world use Workplace. People have created nearly 100,000 groups and the top five countries using Workplace are India, the US, Norway, UK and France.

Facebook opened up Workplace for any organisation that wants to use the service, at very competitive pricing- companies will pay $3 per user for the first 1,000 monthly active users, $2 per user for 1,001 – 10,000 monthly active users, and $1 per user for over 10,000 monthly active users.

The Facebook tool offers services such as News Feed, or the ability to create and share in Groups or via chat, or useful features such as Live, Reactions, Search and Trending posts. This means you can chat with a colleague across the world in real time, host a virtual brainstorm in a Group, or follow along with your CEO’s presentation on Facebook Live.

Workplace also introduces Multi-Company Groups, shared spaces services that allow employees from different organizations to work together, to extend collaboration beyond your company in a safe and secure way. These will be rolling out to all customers in the coming weeks.

Workplace intranets also allow employees to unite, communicate and become more productive and informed as a result. Content creation and management is an integral part of any intranet and choosing an intranet cms is something that can really decide the character and function of an intranet.
