Blockchain Related Jobs Witness a High-demand in India

A recent report released by Job search portal Indeed revealed that blockchain sector in India has a significant demand for professionals with opportunities concentrated in prominent metropolitan cities of the country.

While Bengaluru has topped the list in terms of city listing maximum job postings accounting for 36 percent all the blockchain job opportunities in India, other cities like Mumbai, Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad have also secured a place.
The current statistics expect that global market for blockchain related products will reach $7.7 Bn in 2022, thus adding in more jobs in the sector in future.

Speaking on the subject, Sashi Kumar, MD at Indeed India said,

There is a lot more we need to learn about blockchain technology, given the enormous scope of its application, it is here to stay for long. While Tech forward cities particularly metropolitans are embracing the technology with open hands, the National capital region has also shown a fair amount of interest in the blockchain sector.

 

Top Cities for Blockchain Jobs in India

 

Recently, SBI has come up with a blockchain based exchange system that helps in recovering NPA’s. While the government is religiously trying to understand and explore applications of this emerging technology, state governments are also keen on adopting the tech. A white paper targeting blockchain development is proposed for launch by Karnataka government.

With the government’s proactive approach towards understanding and exploring the possible applications of blockchain technology, India can look forward to a positive growth and developments in the sector. The NITI Aayog’s pilot project in blockchain – IndiaChain – will also help in generating job opportunities in the sector.

As per the data released, a significant increase has been witnessed in the number of job postings in the blockchain sector particularly in the latter half of 2017. Companies are looking actively for posts such as blockchain system architect, blockchain developer, blockchain project lead among others.
