After nine years of comprehensive journey at SlideShare, Amit Ranjan co-founder of slideshare said goodbye to his team. This comes into effect because of the acquisition deal happened in between LinkedIn and SlideShare for $119 Million in 2012.
With almost an average traction of 58 million unique users per month, SlideShare has grown to become the world’s largest community for sharing presentations and other professional content.
“Webyantra, the personal blog of Amit Ranjan quoted as saying ” I’m moving on from SlideShare. After an amazing nine year journey since its launch from New Delhi in 2006, I think now is the right time to pass on the baton and focus on the next stage of my professional life. My co-founders – Rashmi & Jon moved on a few months ago, so this marks the exit of the entire founding team.”
Amit, an MBA from Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, explains how much he had enjoyed all these years at SlideShare from Building a consumer internet platform to running India office for millions of professionals. He credits all these achievements to the entire SlideShare team who has always been an integral part of each and every moment of this span.
Amit also emphasized on how great LinkedIn has been to SlideShare in terms of leadership. One such example came into limelight in November 2014, when SlideShare’s website accounted its highest ever traffic numbers which created possibilities to break soon into top 100 websites across the globe. He feels like now SlideShare is in most capable hands so it may be the right time to move on.
Sir, may be SlideShare is in different parenthood now, but we will always remember who gave us the most useful platform for presentations and infographics. Salute to end of a great era for SlideShare and all the best to a coming one!!
