However, Myntra wants to expand its business by producing its own personal care products that they have in the past announced to launch.

“The beauty and personal care segment will be one of the key areas of focus this year and we are looking at strengthening our portfolio by adding more international brands. We are looking at a contribution of about 8% (from the beauty segment) to our overall revenue by 2020, from the current 1%.” said Ananth Narayanan, chief executive of Myntra and Jabong, also owned by Flipkart.

Other Stores namely Nykaa have emerged as a brand in the last few years with selling cosmetics of others brands as well as products of their private labels both offline and online. “We are a multi-brand retailer first, like a Sephora. But we are also selling our private labels through online and offline channels because we want to be a full-fledged brand like a Lakme or Maybelline,” Falguni Nayar, the chief executive of Nykaa said. For a five-year old nykaa, its been a progressive years with almost Rs 1000 crore sales ending in the year of 2017.

With so many online retailers, it will be a look-out for people to choose from hundreds of brands after amazon launches its private personal care products.
