3 Injured at Youtube Headquarters Shooting; Gunwoman Found Dead

Yesterday, a woman opened fire at YouTube Headquarters injuring three people before finally fatally shooting herself. According to the local police report, the female suspect died from a gunshot wound she probably inflicted to herself. One of those she shot, a 36 year old man is reportedly in a critical condition.

A vast amount of Indian-American professionals work for the online video streaming company, but none were affected by the shooting.

US President Donald Trump was briefed about the shooting and tweeted,

Our thought and prayers are with everybody involved. Thank you to our phenomenal Law Enforcement Officers and First Responders that are currently on the scene.

Yesterday, at around 12 46 p.m local time, the San Bruno Police Department received several 911 calls informing them about gunfire at the YouTube campus located at 901 Cherry Avenue in San Bruno. The police arrived on the scene within 2 minutes and began searching for the shooter.

At 12:53 pm, the policemen found a dead woman inside the building with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

“We have one subject who is deceased inside the building with a self-inflicted wound at this time, [who] we believe to be the shooter,” San Bruno Police Chief Ed Barberini told reporters at a news conference outside YouTube headquarters.

Two more victims were found seeking refuge at a next-door business.

“A total of four people were transported to local hospitals, three of which had gunshot wounds. The extent of the victims’ injuries is unknown at this time,” the police was quoted saying.

Google, parent company of YouTube, sent a tweet to all its employees advising them to stay away from the YouTube basement even if they had important meetings scheduled.

Google also tweeted, “There is no need to take any action. We have provided employees a helpline,” and said that it was operating alongside authorities to solve the matter.

According to some sources, the shooting occurred because of a relationship dispute and the suspect was only targeting her boyfriend who was wounded in the attack.

Apple CEO Tim Cook also took to twitter to send his condolences to the victims of this incident, saying,

From everyone at Apple, we send our sympathy and support to the team at YouTube and Google, especially the victims and their families.

“My stomach sinks with yet another active shooter alert. I’m praying for the safety of everyone at YouTube headquarters,” tweeted Senator Dianne Feinstein.
