UAE is One of the Top Spenders of Beauty & Wellness Products

With the increased demand for beauty and wellness products among the people, UAE is now among the top spenders in cosmetics and personal care products across the globe.

People these days are preferring natural skin care treatments, non-invasive beauty procedures and also with the growing influence of beauty and lifestyle bloggers has created a great impact on the growth of UAE’s beauty sector. According to the reports, consumers in the UAE spent $247 per capita on cosmetics and personal care, more than any other country in the Middle East, and ninth worldwide; this is forecast to grow to $294 in 2020.

It has been stated that the rise in UAE’s cosmetics and skincare space is fuelled by the lifestyle that it is associated with. Also, the harsh climate of UAE is another factor that the people there take a lot of care of their skin and beauty.

“A lot of residents, who weren’t necessarily very conscious about their appearances, are now starting to take note of how they are presenting themselves,” Ahmed Pauwels, CEO of Messe Frankfurt Middle East said.Its become a natural step that comes after dressing well; you focus on ensuring that your skin is not dry, your beard and hair is well trimmed and healthy, and your hands are well cared for. Keeping up appearances at work has also significantly impacted the demand for men’s skincare and grooming products in the region.”

He also stated that there has been an increasing focus on looking polished and well put together among residents in the UAE, especially in the case of males. This has led to a rise in the men’s skincare and grooming segment in the UAE and has witnessed double-digit growth over the past three years.

Shoppers in the UAE are some of the most well informed, and they actively keep up with the latest beauty trends in the market and thus, this has led to the growth of the beauty and wellness sector in the middle east.
