7keema Emerges as “Best Startup” at Seedstars World

Seedstars World, the global seed startup competition of Egypt for emerging markets and fast-growing startups witnessed a successful close during Seedstars Cairo which took place on May 4th, at the newly opened Seedspace.

The event saw five early age startups from Egypt competing in the capital city to create a niche for themselves in front of the engaging audience, investors, industry heavyweights, potential business partners, and government representatives.

The five startups that participated in the event included: 7keema, Vapulus, Skolera, Odiggio, and Hitchhiker. The Jury Panel comprised of some reputed names such as Hanan Abdel Meguid, CEO of Kamelizer, Karim Hussein, Managing Partner at Algebra Ventures, Noha Shaker, Head of Digital Ventures and Strategic alliance at CIB Egypt, Meghan Warner, Regional Manager for MENA at Seedstars, and Mohamed Assad, Venture Capital Associate of Averroes Ventures.

The round ended with jury panel choosing 7keema as the Seedstars Cairo winner. The firm is a pioneer on-demand home nursing service startup in the Middle East which now has emerged as the best startup in Egypt.

With this prestigious victory, 7keema will now will represent the country at the global Seedstars Summit in Switzerland, in April 2019, which will include a week on training program amidst the opportunity to meet the other 65 winners from fast-growing economies along with investors and mentors from all around the world competing to win $1M in equity investment.

Amr Bakr, CEO of 7keema said after winning,

When our name was announced as the first winner, our hearts tended to jump out. This step comes to us on the right timing while we are opening a short round of funding and we are within the negotiations with angel investors and accelerator programs. Now we feel very comfortable and relaxed and are 100 percent certain that we will get the best valuation for our startup.

The Seedstars Summit in Switzerland will have a pitch competition which is expected to attract more than 1,000 attendees.

Apart from 7Keema, other two startups which secured second and third place respectively included Odiggo, the first Middle East e-commerce company to sell car parts and Hitchchiiker, a platform where shippers are connected with trusted travellers.
