In what comes to as a favourable news for the karnataka citizens, the government of the high tech hub state have allowed the citizens to present the soft copies of Driving License, registration Certificate and Emission Certificate to the traffic police officials, in case, if asked.
The Karnataka Government has fully embraced the digital India Campaign by adopting DigiLocker for its Transport Department. The traffic Police have been asked to digitally accepted over 2.7 Crore Digital Driving Licenses, Vehicle Registrations, Emission Certificates present in the DigiLocker.

Relating to the circular, the transport department has mentioned and asked the Traffic officials to treat the digital certicficates of motorized vehicles as originals. It is further issued in the goodwill of the native that such Digilocker documents that are on par with certificate issued by the RTO can be derived as smart card or paper.
Not only this, the scanned copy of such documents would be treated as good as originals, in case, if they are uploaded on DigiLocker, a digital locker facility launched by the government. Now, the people of Karnataka are free of carrying their documents and certificates of proof along with them everywhere as the initiative made by the administration of the city has made travelling trouble-free.
