BSNL Launches Prepaid Plan of Rs 75 To Knock Down Reliance Jio

As all the operators are bringing down their tariffs and offering discounts which makes it a win-win situation for the customers. Taking the game one step ahead and In order to compete with rival Reliance Jio, the state-owned telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has launched its ‘Jeevitha Prepaid Plan’ in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana telecom circle at a price of Rs 75. There is no official word as to whether the data plan will be available in other telecom circles in the country or not.

The BSNL Rs 75 ‘Jeevitha Prepaid Plan’ offers 10GB 3G mobile data along with unlimited local and STD voice calls. The plans also offer 500 free SMS.

However, the free calls offer is not valid for calls to Mumbai and Delhi telecom circles. The plan comes with 15 days validity. According to a report by Telecom Talk, the validity can be extended by further STV recharges.

As TelecomTalk explains, the validity extension will only be given on eligible STV recharges, and not on recharges made via self-care, web self-care or USSD. And for recharge values above Rs 200, the plan validity will be extended by 180 days.

The eligible recharges for 90 days extension include Rs 98, Rs 99, Rs 118, Rs 139, Rs 187 and Rs 198 STVs. Similarly, for 180 days extension, users will have to refill with Rs 319, Rs 333, Rs 339, Rs 349, Rs 395, Rs 444, Rs 447 or Rs 551 STVs.

In the past week, BSNL has also launched the Rs. 171 recharge option that brought 2GB of 2G/ 3G data per day alongside unlimited voice calling benefits and 100 SMS messages per day for 30 days.

The Rs. 171 BSNL recharge was designed to take on the Jio Rs. 198 recharge that offers identical daily data allocation but with 28 days validity and 300 SMS messages per day. BSNL has also revised its Rs 155 and Rs 198 prepaid plans for its users.

The telecom operator is working on its data game in order to retain the customer base and attract new ones.
