VuLiv in Talks for First $4 Million Funding Round

VuLiv, a file sharing and data management startup, which developed an app available on PlayStore and iOS allowing its users to view and share downloaded video and music content internet-free, is in talks to receive $3-4 million in pre-Series A funding from various strategic investors.

It will be the company’s first institutional funding since its inception in 2015 by former Micromax vice president Manoj Gupta.

“We are in talks with multiple strategic investors and within 2-3 months we should close this round,” said Gupta. He also added, “These include Indian and international companies. We don’t want just financial investors, but someone who can help us grow with the right product vision.”

The company’s founder further stated that the money raised will serve the purpose of launching new products and unlock global value.

Up to now, the company invested a capital of $3 million in three years. It claims VuLiv Player is the only app the only app in the world that telecasts a user’s videos, music and photos on multiple screens be it smartphones, computers or even smart TV without transferring the file or any kind of hardware extension. The service does not involve internet or any additional cost.

The app makes use of proprietary software technology to connect with multiple smart devices at one time and creating one host hardware that manages the media content. The technology is built-in the smartphone hardware and is based on basic communication protocols, thus allowing the host hardware to beam specific speed for every connected hardware with no alterations in content quality or buffering.

Gupta said that VuLiv boasts up to 11 million users currently, a user base they acquired without any sort of marketing or promotions. “We are soon going to touch a billion media sessions with over 300 million videos,” said Manoj Gupta.
