myGate Secures $8.8 million in Series A Funding Round

Mobile-based security management solution for gated premises called myGate has secured funds amounting to Rs 65 crore (around $8.8 million) in Series A funding round. This round was led by existing investor Prime Venture Partners.

The company is planning to utilize these funds to grow rapidly across 10 cities including Chennai, Mumbai and Delhi-NCR. It has not been mentioned whether any other backer took part in the funding round or not.

myGate is owned and operated by Bengaluru-based Vivish Technologies Pvt. Ltd and was founded in 2016 by Vijay Arisetty, Abhishek Kumar, Vivaik Bhardwaj and Shreyans Daga.

“Technology is pervasive and it was only a matter of time for the security at gated communities to be transformed using smart and intelligent solutions… We will expand the myGate team across all cities,” said myGate CEO Vijay Arisetty.

Before establishing the company, Arisetty and Kumar worked as security guards at gated communities for over three months basically to understand the problem that the guards often face and how and where the potential blunder occur.

The company basically allows housing societies to regulate movement in their campuses where security guards are given smartphones with the help of which they can collect parcels, manage movement of delivery agents and keep a tab on entry of domestic helps and guests.

“We are also working on a solution around parcel workflow management to automate parcel collection by security guards at the gate in order to ensure safety of the parcel and keep a trail of the movement of the goods,” Arisetty mentioned.

With the system of this app, all visitor entries and exits are logged digitally. myGate claims that it provides service to more than 250,000 homes across over 1,000 communities in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune.
