In a series of Funding, WebEngage, a software-as-a-service (SaaS) startup has received an undisclosed amount of funding from venture capital firm Social Capital run by former chief executive of Facebook, Chamath Palihapitiya .
The platform, WebEngage, is a user engagement website, operated by Webklipper Technologies Pvt in Mumbai. Speaking of the Funding, the startup said that it is the first company to raise money through Social Capital’s Capital-as-a-Service (Caas) vehicle.
The fund money will be used to enhance the product pipeline for this year says WebEngage. The company was found in Mumbai by Avlesh Singh and Ankit Utreja in 2011. It develops marketing automation software for companies and was previously working on onsite engagement tool used by online businesses to engage visitors on the website.
Previously, the SaaS company had raised money from two rounds of funding from Indian Angel Network and New York-based GTI Capital respectively. A Bengaluru based-based Capillary Technologies Pvt Ltd also hold a minor stake in WebEngage.
The Co-founder of WebEngage, Avlesh Singh, through a blog post, said,
“The company will focus on suggesting user journeys to marketers and product managers based on data and machine learning, helping customers measure and optimise based on global/local benchmarks, helping customers to holistically test campaigns across channels before launching, growing the platform to integrate nicely with other ecosystem players.”
WebEngage lets other business firms and companies to advertise their promotions and offers through their platform and thus, calculates audience perception.
