Born and brought up in Delhi, Shivam did the schooling in the city. His earlier ambition was to become a scientist and from the very initial school days he was showing glimpse of the future and it came in light when he won Silver Medal at All India NTSE Science Olympiad with a score of 97%. Further during the four year engineering course at Bharati Vidyapeeth, Pune he remained a crucial part of National level tech fests. All of this forwarded his journey from student to an IT Programmer at Cognizant to an Analytic professional with MetLife, Designations kept on changing along with the geography from India to Argentina to USA. Recognitions such as Innovator, DNA member, Rainmaker, etc were a part of this journey until the day he quit his job to come back to India.
Being deployed in a ‘near-shore’ model in Argentina and working on a project to quantify brand management, Shivam realized that this whole concept could be replicated into a model which can help individuals with Personal Branding. The same concepts can be applied to individuals and could help people overcome the barriers they face while perceiving themselves as a brand. That day he realized, it’s time to pursue the real dream, entering the startup world, entrepreneurship and Arbunize.
When asked about the challenges, Shivam explains “it’s been more than one and a half year developing the portal and journey has been beyond incredible. One day you feel like being on the top because something good happens and other day you feel like crap due to a small bug, maintaining that emotional state stable is the biggest challenge”.
“During all the hard times, acknowledgements that we get from our loved ones, our supporters helps us move that extra mile” he adds smilingly.
Inspired deeply by Google’s CEO Larry Page, this innovative leader believes that as a founder you have to lead by example, try to find the answer of “what” and “how”, only then delegate it to the team . As execution beats idea a hundred times, so participate equally in each task and if you have a good team, you have everything.
Talking about the Indian startup ecosystem, he adds “The Indian startup industry is booming at a very healthy pace and there are ample of opportunities for the seekers. You just need to be a better communicator, motivator and a visionary. Just do something that impacts the society and bring innovation…!
