For some people journey is important, there are those who consider the goal, and there are these entrepreneurs who believes in “goal oriented journey”. Meet Ankur Aggarwal, Founder and CEO of Flexiguru and Mehak Aggarwal Co-Founder, Flexiguru.
Q. Tell us a bit about your born and brought up?
I was born and brought up in Ludhiana, then moved to Delhi with my family and completed my schooling there, then earned my engineering degree from United Kingdom. I started my carrier as a partner in a Tax and Accounting firm in USA.
Q. What ignited the spark to build Flexiguru?
It all started with a question from my cousin preparing for his mid terms “can you help me prepare this topic for my exam” and i said “unfortunately, i can’t……………right now”, since that day I have been on a mission to build something that can be beneficial for students and professionals, not just in the ‘need of hour’ but also in day-to-day learning experience.
Q. Please share with us the hurdles you have faced during the journey?
Starting and planning the concept was comparatively an easy decision but as we approached the subsequent sections of building team, hiring good talent without a lot of cash offerings, generating funds, arranging mentorships the hurdles kept on arising high and high. The journey has been a blend of a lot of hard work, dedication and struggle but in all those up and down curves we stood firm as a team to focus on problem of the market and that gave us the motivation to do more and more to produce the best, recalls Ankur.
Q. Tell us something about your leadership style?
Being at the top of organisation teaches you the firm leadership skills that keeps you motivated and self evolving all the time. I believe in the blend of different leadership styles compiled within i.e delegating the work, taking authority and participating in the execution and always lead from the front.
Q. How do you define success?
Different people have different meaning of success in their life. For me, success is different in different phases, in first phase success is the proper execution of product launching strategies. Then the next step is to make money out of it and then gaining funding to expand even more.
Q. Being a young entrepreneur what would you advice to the youths?
Focus on the product first, build it with the topmost quality and then only after launching it successfully target at funding. No hurdle should be big enough to shake your belief in your own idea, just try your best each and every time till success becomes a part of your identity.
