BookMyShow Acquires Hyderabad Based MastiTickets

BookMyShow has acquired Hyderabad-based online ticketing platform, MastiTickets, for an undisclosed sum, a move aimed at consolidating its presence in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The acquisition will include transfer of MastiTickets' key assets along with existing cinema partnerships to BookMyShow, BookMyShow CEO and co-founder Ashish Hemrajani told Pixr8. He, however, declined to comment on the deal size. Founded in 2014 by Ravi Narla, MastiTickets has a strong presence in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and currently works with over 120 cinemas. Google is acquiring Twitter's mobile application developer platform Fabric, a move which could give some breathing room for the social network after charting an independent path without a suitor. Terms of the deal were not announced. Twitter last year was in talks to sell itself with several firms including Google parent Alphabet, but without a deal decided to continue on an independent path, cutting jobs and refocusing on its core services. HP Acquired US Software Startup SimpliVity for $650 Million

Hewlett Packard Enterprise today announced a deal to buy business data management firm for USD 650 million in cash. Founded in 2009, the Massachusetts-based Simplivity sells "hyperconverged" systems that combine computing, storage and networking. HPE said the market for such systems was estimated at USD 2.4 billion last year and was expected to grow to nearly USD 6 billion by the year 2020. IT services major HCL Technologies today said it has completed its USD 85 million acquisition of Butler America Aerospace. The all-cash deal, announced in October last year, will strengthen HCL Technologies' position in the aerospace and defence engineering services space. "The acquisition has been completed with effect from January 3, 2017," HCL said in a filing to the BSE.
