New Delhi, Mar.14 (ANI): Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has planned to set up two manufacturing plants in India and the company would be launching more devices in 2016. The president of Xiaomi has said he would be spending a lot of time in India analysing the market. "We believe it (China) will be a flat market, if not, even decline," said Bin Lin, co-founder and president at Xiaomi. "We talked to Foxconn about opening two new factories, they are in discussions with some of the provinces (states)," the 48-year-old former Microsoft and Google executive added. Headquartered in Beijing, China, Xiaomi is the world's fourth largest smartphone maker. The Labour Ministry has decided to integrate the registration process under five Labour Acts with the e-biz portal of the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP). NEW DELHI: Government will launch a portal for startups by next week and begin the registration process with a view to encourage budding entrepreneurs and promote ease of doing business, a top official said today. Stand Up India Scheme Allocates Rs.500 Crore For SC ST and Women

New Delhi, Feb.29: Sharing his nine pillars for what he called a transformational budget for fiscal 2016-17, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Monday announced that under the Stand-Up India scheme, a sum of Rs.500 crores has been allocated to people belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (SC and ST) and women entrepreneurs. The Startup India campaign is based on an action plan aimed at promoting bank financing for start-up ventures to boost entrepreneurship and encourage start-ups with jobs creation. New Delhi: A Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) committee has advised credible third party certification in most areas of government regulation to further facilitate ease of doing business in the country. The committee, which was headed by former DIPP secretary Ajay Shankar realeased a full page report and said once government allows third party certification, multiple players could emerge within a year’s time. As a deterrent, however, the committee suggested that some percentage of such certification should be subjected to random audit with stiff penalties leading up to even withdrawal of accreditation for laxity. ‘Make in India Week’ gets Rs 15.2 lakh crore investment commitments

MUMBAI: The week-long Make in India event here has secured investment commitments worth Rs 15.2 lakh crore, with host state Maharashtra alone accounting for Rs 8 lakh crore. The first trial run for developing a satellite-based system to warn train drivers on unmanned railway crossings was conducted by ISRO scientists in Ahmedabad recently. Scientists at the city-based Space Applications Centre (SAC) are now in the process of commercially developing this system that will be fitted on 50 different trains across the country as a second part of the demonstration project. Japanese telecom and media group SoftBank will "seriously" accelerate its investments in India, Chief Executive Masayoshi Son told a start-up conference in New Delhi on Saturday.
