New Delhi, Feb 5, 2021: Digital payment solution provider Paypal will stop offering domestic payment services within India from April 1. The US-based company will instead focus on enabling more international sales for Indian businesses. Indian eCommerce platforms reported USD 8.3 bn GMV during festive Sales

New Delhi, 28th Nov 2020: India's e-commerce festive sale season from October 15-November 15 this year delivered USD 8.3 billion (about Rs 58,000 crore) worth of gross sales for brands and sellers, up 65 percent from USD 5 billion (Rs 35,000 crore) last year, research firm RedSeer said on Friday. This was also higher than the pre-festive forecast of USD 7 billion, RedSeer said in its report titled 'The Festival of Firsts'. About USD 3.2 billion (Rs 22,000 crore) worth of gross sales was registered in September this year, which zoomed to USD 8.3 billion in the festive period, the report said. Digital Transaction in India Grows 55% in 5 years to FY20

Concerted efforts by the Indian Reserve Bank to move to a non/less-cash economy by pushing digital payments have begun to pay rich dividends as the volume of such payments has jumped manifold in the past five years, the latest data from the Indian central bank showed. Between 2015-16 and 2019-20, digital payments have grown at a compounded annual growth rate of 55.1 percent from 593.61 crores in the year to March 2016 to 3,434.56 crore in the year to March 2020. New Delhi, 1st Oct 2020: The startup's ecosystem has raised as much as USD 63 billion in growth capital between 2016 and 2020, when they spawned 27 unicorns, according to the data collated by the Indian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association and Praxis Global Alliance. New Delhi, Sept 2 2020: The Indian government blocked 118 more mobile applications, including popular gaming app PUBG, terming them prejudicial to the sovereignty, integrity and defence of the nation. The banned apps include Baidu, Baidu Express Edition, Tencent Watchlist, FaceU, WeChat Reading and Tencent Weiyun, besides PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite, according to an official statement. All these banned apps have Chinese links, sources said. The Centre had earlier banned a number of Chinese apps, including TikTok and UC Browser.
