Zomato Launches India’s First “Large Order Fleet” for 50 People

Bengaluru, 18th April 2024: Zomato India has recently introduced India’s first large order fleet to meet the needs of group events such as parties, with the capacity to serve up to 50 people.

CEO Deepinder Goyal made the announcement on the microblogging platform X, formerly known as Twitter, revealing that the company will be utilizing an “all-electric fleet” for delivering large orders. This decision was made in response to previous orders being handled by multiple regular fleet partners, resulting in a less than satisfactory customer experience.

“We are excited to unveil India’s first large order fleet, specifically designed to handle your group, party, or event orders with ease. This fleet is comprised entirely of electric vehicles, designed to efficiently accommodate orders for gatherings of up to 50 people,” stated Goyal in the announcement.

Prior to this, Zomato relied on various delivery partners to manage large orders, often leading to customer dissatisfaction. With the introduction of the new electric vehicles, the company aims to enhance the ordering process for customers placing large orders on Zomato.

Goyal also revealed that the vehicles are still in the development phase, with Zomato actively working on incorporating key upgrades such as cooling compartments and hot boxes with temperature control, ensuring that orders are delivered exactly as desired.

“These vehicles are a work in progress, and we are focused on implementing crucial enhancements such as cooling compartments and hot boxes with temperature regulation to guarantee that everything arrives just the way you prefer,” emphasized Goyal in his social media post.

With the launch of the large order fleet, Zomato is committed to providing a seamless and satisfying experience for customers ordering in bulk, setting a new standard in the food delivery industry.
