HP Unveils Worlds Thinnest Laptop, Business Notebook

Personal computers and printing major HP Inc today launched eight new personal products including the worlds thinnest laptop at 10.4 mm thickness, a calling device, and a business notebook. According to the company, Spectre is the worlds thinnest laptop and has a battery life of up to nine and a half hours. The new calling device, HP Elite x3, is built-for-business mobile device and runs on Windows 10. HP Elite x3 bridges phablet, laptop and desktop to enable users to run key productivity apps across these different experiences seamlessly. Google Pulls Taliban App After It Was on Play For Two Days

Internet giant Google has removed a propaganda app created by Taliban militants over hate speech concerns. The App called "Pashto Afghan News- Alemara," that was initially accepted on the Play store, reportedly featured videos and statements from the groups main website. The app, which allowed users to access the groups Pashto website, is part of a growing digital campaign by the Taliban to grow its audience. "We dont allow apps that advocate against groups of people based on their race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, nationality, veteran status, sexual orientation, or gender identity," a Google spokesperson said. Flipkart Acquired Third Payments Start-up PhonePe

Bengaluru, 1st April 2016: Flipkart Ltd, India's leading E-commerce platform has acquired payments start-up PhonePe Internet Pvt. Ltd.. The startup was launched last December by former Flipkart executives Sameer Nigam, Rahul Chari and Burzin Engineer.  The amount of the deal is not confirmed  yet but according to sources, the deal size is between $10 million to $20 million. The PhonePe team will join leading e-commerce company but will function as an independent business unit. Spotify Raises $1 Billion in Funding: Report

AFP- Music streaming giant Spotify has raised $1 billion (roughly Rs. 6,632 crores) in convertible debt from investors, with strict conditions, the Wall Street Journal reported late Tuesday. Private-equity firm TPG, hedge fund Dragoneer Investment Group and clients of Goldman Sachs are taking part in the deal, the paper said, citing people familiar with the transaction. Convertible debt are bonds that can be exchanged for stock. If Spotify holds a public offering in the next year, TPG and Dragoneer will be able to convert the debt into equity at a 20 percent discount to the listing price, the Journal reported. New Delhi, Mar.14 (ANI): Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has planned to set up two manufacturing plants in India and the company would be launching more devices in 2016. The president of Xiaomi has said he would be spending a lot of time in India analysing the market.
