IT firm Tech Mahindra today said it has entered into the Top-20 global tech services brands list (by brand value) in 2017,as per an independent assessment by a valuation and strategy consultancy, Brand Finance. It also said the company has potential to be in the top-5 technology services brands by 2020. E-commerce Platform Infibeam to Invest $468k in RemitGuru

E-commerce firm Infibeam Incorporation Ltd has agreed to invest Rs 3 crore ($468,000) in global digital remittance solutions platform RemitGuru. “As a part of this investment transaction, Infibeam and CC Avenue will invest Rs. 3 crore in RemitGuru wherein Infibeam will invest Rs. 2 crore,” Infibeam said in a statement. The deal would be a cash deal transaction helping Infibeam to increase cross-border e-commerce business transactions with cash-free modes through fintech solutions. The Indian Railways will float global tenders worth over Rs 100 crore for acquiring sophisticated equipment to run 1000 trains without guards. The End of Train Telemetry (EoTT) equipment is used to establish communication between the locomotive driver and the last wagon of the train to ensure that the train is running with all coaches/wagons as a complete unit. The equipment is designed to do the guards job by giving indication to the loco driver in case of parting of coaches or wagons from the rear side of the train. The government wants iPhone maker Apple to consider a new manufacturing scheme offering duty benefits to set up its plants in the country. "Apple had asked for a set of concessions. For a period of 15 years all the components that Apple imports, they want them to be free of duty. We have a phased manufacturing programme (PMP) because we want more and more value addition to come to the country.
