India’s third-largest Bengaluru-based Hotel chain, Treebo Hotels has made its very first acquisition by getting hold of an event and activity discovery platform that brings all events, movies and things to do in various cities of our country. The acquired company is known as Events High.
The event company provides various kind of information to the customers regarding the events and activities and also the ability to book them in 8 cities (Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Kolkata and Goa). The activities that they offer consists of – concerts, heritage walks, treks and hikes, dance workshops, educational workshops, cooking classes, sports carnivals, summer camps, road trips, language festivals, parties and nightlife and various other adventurous activities and fun events.
Sidharth Gupta, co-founder of Treebo Hotels said, “We are on a mission to offer delightful experiences to travelers and build the most loved travel network. Over the last three years, we have made the first big leap in fulfilling this mission by offering great quality hotels at affordable prices.”
Though the amount of the deal and other financial details have not yet been disclosed, the acquisition clearly shows the determined attempt of the hotel chain Treebo to make an addition to its services for customer satisfaction. Also, it has been declared that the 15-member Events High team, including the founders, will join the company.
Treebo is the fastest growing chain of budget hotels that offer shelter to travelers without any discrimination between rich and poor. Its headquarters are in Bengaluru and was founded by Sidharth Gupta, Rahul Chaudhary, and Kadam Jeet Jain in June 2015. As of now, they operate 400+ hotels in 80+ Indian cities.
On the other hand, Events High is a marketplace for experiential events and activities at one place. This company is also Bengaluru-based and was founded in 2014. It helps the users find just the right event or activity based on their location, interest and availability.
When asked about future buyouts, the co-founder stated that there are no specific plans yet but the company will sure grab an opportunity that helps the business to grow. Treebo has taken an intelligent step because experiencing local activities is a core part of people’s travel plans and through this acquisition, the travelers will be able to get all the facilities and services at one place without facing problems.
