What is TEDx, one might wonder!

TED is a non-profit organization which is devoted to the ideas Worth Spreading, started 26 years back in California has now taken a very wide channel all over the world. TEDx (x= independently organized TED event) is a local offshoot of TED. It is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. The various ideas and ideologies are presented by the dreamers who define their motive and work behind the ideas that will cater to our future needs, change the way we think and try creating a difference in the world. TEDx WalledCity brings together these movers and forward thinkers from Delhi that are as fascinating and accomplished as the speaker themselves.

Speakers at the TEDx WalledCity included Nandita Das, Sujatha Rao, Anu Aggarwal, Eben Johnson, Dr. Vikram Soni, William Meara, Neeraj Jain, Vamsi Krishna, Hemal Trivedi, Gaurav Dalal, Ayan Ali Khan, Vineeh Vincent, Diva Sharma, Harsh Mandar, Enakshi Ganguly & Bharti Ali and Yogesh Jain.

Each speaker was prepared and set to try to give the best presentation of their lives. Backed by their previous experiences and confident in their ideas, the speakers gave a short 15-18 mins’ presentation for the public to hear from a wide range of perspectives.

“Change will happen if we want ourselves exposed. All of us have many different identities, and it is up to us what we chose to be best at”, quoted Nandita Das as the first speaker of the event.

The event was attended by a large number of audiences with the auditorium full of people and those who were late, end up getting the last benches.

“Turn off your mobile phones! Take a break with me, just relax” was the next appeal made by William Meara. “Mobile phones are nowadays the weapons of mass destructions”, he said.
