Middle East-based cab aggregator Careem has entered into a deal and signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Department of Culture and Tourism, Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) for the purpose of creating curated routes across the emirate and encourage events in the city.
Careem GCC managing director Bassel Al Nahlaoui and DCT Abu Dhabi undersecretary Saif Saeed Ghobash have signed the agreement. They both will also oversee Careem work with DCT Abu Dhabi to improve customer journeys from Abu Dhabi International Airport and enhance water taxi solutions. Also, they would be looking after the transfer of knowledge and map various data points to better understand commuter behvaiour and create solutions to commuter problems.
“This agreement between our two organisations is in line with our desire to constantly improve the visitor experience at all touch points across the emirate,” said Ghobash. “Working together with our partners at Careem we will improve accessibility and take another step towards a truly seamless travel experience for our guests.”
He also stated that through enhancing transportation provision and efficiency, as well as using Careem to cross-promote events across the emirate, our guests can concentrate more on enjoying the culture and heritage of Abu Dhabi.
“We are keen on working closely with decision makers in UAE and sharing knowledge and expertise to look for innovative ways to improve the transport and tourism sectors based on technology, analytics and valuable insights,” Bassem Al Nahlaoui said.
The parties believe that the experience and knowledge gained from our collaboration will also pay dividends in the future, which will ultimately benefit Abu Dhabi.
