Zomato expands in North, Launches Service in Lucknow and Ludhiana

Zomato, the popular online restaurant search platform is all set to expand its ordering and food delivery services in North as it has decided to kick-start its operations in Lucknow and Ludhiana, as informed by the company on Friday.

With the launch of Zomato’s services in these two cities, Zomato’s online network has now stretched across 17 Indian cities which include Pune, Kochi, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Indore, Coimbatore, Vadodara, and Nagpur, Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata.

The company has tied up with 1000 restaurants across the new cities including legendary, exquisite, favourites, to quick food joints and new cafes. Popular restaurant brands like Moti Mahal, Al-Baik.Com, Marksman will now give service online through Zomato.

Mohit Kumar, Zomato, head of Food Delivery, said,

Lucknow has always been known for its love for food. We already have significant traffic from the city for our reviews/listing product and are pleasantly surprised with the response within the first fortnight since our launch there. Within two weeks of launch, we are already clocking 3,000 orders a day and growing at 30% week-on-week.

While coming to Ludhiana, restaurants such as Khushi Ram & Sons, Hot Breads, Belfrance Bakers & Chocolatiers, Milkshake & Co., and Sharman Jain Sweets have tied up with the online platform.

Hence, with its debut in the two Northern cities, Zomato will be offering live order tracking and an average delivery of 35 minutes through its online delivery fleet in Lucknow and Ludhiana, which will be operational within a week.
