Now ride in Delhi Metro hustle free and without the tension of getting your time killed in the long queues for recharging your metro card. It’s time to shun the long queues at Delhi Metro Rail Corporation(DMRC) ticket counters. Now, Delhi Metro travelers will be able to recharge their metro cards via Paytm on the go!
This process was initiated more than a year ago, when the news about a special token did come up! Although One97 Communications’ Paytm did not make any official statements then, but it was estimated that that special token will allow passengers to travel, automatically deducting the fare from their Paytm balance, instead of making them repeatedly recharge a Metro card.
Paytm already has a tie-up with the Mumbai Metro that allows its users to recharge their Mumbai Metro cards online.
“This is our true sincere effort to make traveling by Delhi Metro a hassle free experience for all the 2.3 million commuters who use this service on a daily basis. With this step, we hope that not only it will reduce the check-in time of the passengers but also it will motivate other daily commuters who travel on their own to take up Metro as their preferred way to commute” says Paytm.
Besides, the Delhi Metro also has a website that enables its users to check balance as well as recharge their metro cards online. The advantage of integrating Paytm Wallet with this service is that the users would not have to maintain multiple wallets, if one already uses Paytm wallet for recharging and other services such as Uber, then they only need to keep a single wallet filled with cash to use for the Metro as well.
