Leading B2B marketplace IndiaMART has seen a 10-fold increase in its user base over the past six years to achieve 100 million registered users on the platform. "We have aimed at making IndiaMART a one-stop-shop for all the business needs and have strived for curating a platform that is simple and convenient for millions of MSMEs in India," said Chief Operating Officer Dinesh Gulati. The Facebook-owned messaging service WhatsApp now has more than two billion users around the world. WhatsApp, acquired by Facebook in 2014, has grown into one of the most-used services in the Facebook "family" of apps, offering free messaging along with voice and video calls. India Lost 2 Crore Mobile Users in November

The number of telecom subscribers dwindled by 1.58 crore to 118.5 crore in November, even as Reliance Jio continued to lead in customer addition with over 15 crore subscribers, as per a report by Trai. "The number of telephone subscribers in India declined from 1,201.72 million at the end of October 2017 to 1,185.88 million at the end of November 2017, thereby showing a monthly decline rate of 1.32 per cent," the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India said in a monthly subscriber report today. The decline was mainly on account of closure of mobile services by some of the operators including Anil Ambani-led Reliance Communications (RCom), which lost over 2.57 crore subscribers during the period. Skype Will Use Aadhaar-based ID Authentication: Microsoft

Microsoft today said it has presented to central authorities various “case scenarios” on how its Skype service can be used for identity authentication using the Aadhaar database. “We have presented various case scenarios on how Skype can be used. We already support iris authentication (on Windows 10). Now it depends on them how they want to proceed,” Microsoft India Chairman Bhaskar Pramanik said. Citing an example, he said Skype can be used by people to authenticate themselves for accessing government services that require Aadhaar-based authentication. IANS- Professional networking website LinkedIn on Wednesday announced that it has crossed the 100-million member mark in the Asia-Pacific region (APAC), and with 37 million members, India is its largest market in the region. Globally, India retains its spot as the second largest market after the US, a company statement said. The number of Internet users in the country is expected to go up to 50 crore, from the present over 40 crore, in next 5-8 months, Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said today. "The number of people using Internet has crossed 40 crore in the country at present. I am expecting this number to go up to 50 crore in next 5-8 months. "According to our estimate, out of these, 70 per cent people are going to access Internet through mobile phones," Prasad said here at an Indore Management Association function.
