Edtech Platform Unacademy acquire Prepladder for $50 million

India's leading ed-tech platform Unacademy has acquired a medical-based preparation platform PrepLadder for $50 million. Online education platform Unacademy raises USD 110 million (about Rs 780 crore) in a funding round led by social media major Facebook and General Atlantic. Bengaluru-based online education company Unacademy has acquired Jaipur-based online exam preparation platform and career portal Wifistudy in a bid to tap into the test prep market. Unacademy, an edtech startup raised INR 3.84 crore funding from existing investors – Sequoia Capital, Saif Partners, Nexus Venture Partners and Blume Ventures in a Series B equity round. Its parent company, Sorting Hat Technologies Private Limited allotted 400 Series B1 preference shares of Rs 100/- each and a premium of Rs 96,127.10/- per share.
