Apple Ties up with Salesforce to Bring Siri to More Business Apps

The technology giant Apple has entered into a partnership with an American cloud computing company Salesforce for the purpose of building the iPhone maker's features such as its Siri voice assistant deeper into Salesforce's own mobile apps. Salesforce apps are widely used in the sales and marketing industries.   This is a beneficial deal for Salesforce and in turn, the company will build software tools so that the big businesses that use its back-end technology to power their own apps can make better products with features specific to iPhones and iPads.   "If you look at enterprise in general, voice has not been used as much as in consumer," Apple CEO Tim Cook said. "We're going to be able to provide the sales rep instant access to things using your voice instead of c...

Apple Apologizes After Outcry Over Slowed iPhones

Facing lawsuits and consumer outrage after it said it slowed older iPhones with flagging batteries, Apple Inc is slashing prices for battery replacements and will change its software to show users whether their phone battery is good. In a posting on its website Thursday, Apple apologized over its handling of the battery issue and said it would make a number of changes for customers “to recognize their loyalty and to regain the trust of anyone who may have doubted Apple’s intentions.” Apple made the move to address concerns about the quality and durability of its products at a time when it is charging $999 for its newest flagship model, the iPhone X. The company said it would cut the price of an out-of-warranty battery replacement from $79 to $29 for an iPhone 6 or later, starting ...

Apple Sued by iPhone Owners Over Intentional Slowing of Older iPhones

AP- iPhone owners from several states sued Apple for not disclosing sooner that it issued software updates deliberately slowing older-model phones so aging batteries lasted longer, saying Apple's silence led them to wrongly conclude that their only option was to buy newer, pricier iPhones. The allegations were in a lawsuit filed on Thursday in Chicago federal court on behalf of five iPhone owners from Illinois, Ohio, Indiana and North Carolina, all of whom say they would never have bought new iPhones had Apple told them that simply replacing the batteries would have sped up their old ones. The suit alleges Apple violated consumer fraud laws. A similar lawsuit was filed on Thursday in Los Angeles. Both suits came a day after Apple confirmed what high-tech sleuths outside the company a...

Apple’s Tim Cook Says Developers Have Earned $17B From China App Store

Apple Inc’s chief executive Tim Cook said developers using its platform in China number 1.8 million and have earned a total 112 billion yuan ($16.93 billion), representing roughly a quarter of total global App Store earnings. Cook shared the data on Sunday during a speech at China’s top public cyber policy forum, organised by the Cybersecurity Administration of China (CAC), which oversees internet regulation including censorship. Earlier this year, Apple said that developers had earned roughly $70 billion in total revenue through the store. Apple is facing criticism from local users and rights groups for bowing to pressure from Beijing cyber regulators after it decided to remove hundreds of apps from its Chinese store this year, including messaging apps and virtual private network (VPN)...

Be Intellectually Honest And Have The Courage To Change Says Apple CEO Tim Cook

Starting out with his conversation and speaking to an audience of students and to be entrepreneurs at the opening of the Foundry startup hub in Oxford, UK, Cook talked about his early life and what are the key elements to succeed as a CEO and as an entrepreneur. Back when Tim Cook was 21(1988), he says "I wanted to find a job that I loved and I wanted to love the work I did." Having grown up in a "very lower middle-class family" and watching his father working a "blue-collared job" for his family and not doing the thing he would love. Soon after his undergraduate school Tim realized that "the purpose of life is not to love your job. It was to serve humanity in a broad way and the outcome of that would mean that you would love your job." He also says that "after joining Apple, I re...

People have been going crazy ever since last year to get a peek of Apple's new iPhone 8. The internet has been taken over with dummies of the iPhone 8 model and there are about a thousand videos describing about the probable specs of iPhone 8 alone. It is understood that the device is somewhere being tested in Apple's labs and very much exists.
