Bigtree Entertainment Singapore Pte Ltd, which owns and operates BookMyShow's South East Asia business said Singapore-based Jungle Ventures has invested in the company. The company however, did not disclose the financial details of the transaction. The capital will be used to strengthen BookMyShow SEA's technology operations and grow its capabilities to cater to the rising entertainment demands in the Southeast Asian region, a company statement said. TheCollegeFever (TCF), a college event ticket booking startup raised a seed funding worth $250,000 (Rs 1.7 crore) from Mumbai-based investment firm 11.2 Advisors. It is the first time that TheCollegeFever is raising funds from external resources and intends on using the capital for customer acquisition and improving technology, its founder Kushal Aralihalli said. The Bengaluru-based company, which is run by Culturo Technology Pvt. Ebix Inc, the parent company of ItzCash, has marked its fifth acquisition in India by acquiring Sequoia backed online travel portal Via.com, it said in a press statement. This acquisition marks U.S. based on demand software supplier Ebix's distribution network to over 224,000 outlets in South-east Asia, besides offering significant cross-selling opportunities for Ebix’s EbixCash (former ItzCash) Financial Exchange portfolio of products, the company said. The Railways will soon move towards Aadhaar-based online ticketing system to prevent touts from blocking a bulk of tickets, end fraudulent bookings and curb cases of impersonation. Aadhaar number has been made mandatory for senior citizens to avail concessions in train tickets from April 1. A three-month trial run for this is going on. IRCTC Launched New App “IRCTC Connect” For Hassle Free Journey

To make train journeys pleasant and hassle-free, railways will launch an integrated mobile app for availing all travel-related services such as hiring taxis, porters and booking retiring rooms and lounges at stations among others. The app "IRCTC Connect" which aims to provide a one stop solution for various services can be used for booking tickets, ordering food from a favourite restaurant or finding hotel rooms of passengers' choice outside the stations. The application is likely to be launched early next year as the required ground work for it is underway, a senior Railway Ministry official said.
