Recruitment At RCom Declined By 94 Percent

The Anil Dhirubhai Ambani-led telecom company Reliance Communications has stated that the total number of jobs and recruitment in the company have reduced to 3,400 at present by about 94 percent from a high level of 52,000. The jobs at the RCom was at its peak at around 2008-10. But gradually the number has decreased, maybe due to the pressure of debt. The company is losing its balance lately under a debt of around Rs 45,000 crore. "Total number of people in the RCOM group: from peak of approximately 52,000 to current 3,400, a reduction of approximately 94 percent," RCom said in a filing. Indian Govt Plans to Launch Postal Payments Bank By September

Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad today said the Centre plans to launch Postal Payments Bank in September with the aim to make it the world's largest bank. "I had plans to launch the proposed Postal Payments Bank, which can be described as moving ATM, in next three years but when the proposal was taken up in the cabinet, I was asked to introduce it by September 17," the Union Telecommunication and IT Minister said at a Vikas Parv function here. The minister said the officials of the department have been directed to initiate necessary steps to launch it by September 16/17. The proposed bank will be introduced in 650 districts across the country, he said, "we have plans to introduce in 1.30 lakh post offices in the rural belts". BSNL Revenue : Rs 672-crore operating profit in 2014-15, first Net profit by 2018

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, an Indian state-owned telecommunications company is back on track for recovery with Rs 672-crore operating profit in 2014-15 and is likely to report the first net profit in the last nine years within 2018, communications minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said.
