Kotak Mahindra Banks Promoter Uday Kotak Sold His Shares

Kotak Mahindra Banks promoter Uday Kotak today sold 1.8 crore shares of the private sector lender for a little over Rs 1,687 crore, bringing down his stake to below 30 per cent to meet the RBI directive. The shares were purchased by several entities, including Canadian pension fund Caisse de Depot et Placement du Quebec and Fidelity Funds. According to bulk deal data available with the BSE, Uday Kotak, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, sold a total of 1.8 crore shares, amounting to 0.95 per cent stake of the bank. The shares were offloaded on an average price of Rs 937.35, valuing the transaction at Rs 1,687.23 crore, the data showed. Google's 44-year-old India-born CEO Sundar Pichai received nearly USD 200 million in compensation last year, double the amount he got in 2015. Pichai received a salary of USD 650,000 last year, slightly less than the USD 652,500 he earned in 2015. But the long-time Google employee, who was named CEO during the company's re-organisation in August 2015, received a stock award of USD 198.7 million in 2016, roughly double his 2015 stock award of USD 99.8 million. E-commerce major Flipkart will issue additional shares to eligible employees in efforts to ensure their stake remains at a "steady level" after the latest fund raising round that came at a lower valuation. Reliance Capital has sold its nearly 1 percent stake in popular digital payments firm Paytm for Rs 275 crore to China's Alibaba Group in a deal reaping huge gains for the Anil Ambani-led group firm. The financial services arm of Reliance Group had invested Rs 10 crore for this stake in Paytm. The deal gives a valuation of over USD 4 billion to Paytm, which is already backed by Alibaba group as a strategic investor.
