Work from home Job Search rise over 400% in India

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, many jobs have rapidly become work-from-home jobs at least temporarily and with the flexibility and a variety of career options, it has become more popular than ever, global job site Indeed said in a report. The job postings grew in sectors such as software technology, healthcare and marketing, while opportunities for delivery person and IT manager saw a steady rise, it said. The report is based upon data from the Indeed platform from February to July. New Delhi: A substantial number of employees are interested in working from home with the preference more prevalent among those aged above 45 years, says a survey. HR services provider Randstad today said that almost equal number of men and women opined that they would like telecommuting. "53 per cent of the respondents from India said they prefer telecommuting, while 47 per cent prefer to work from the office every day," it said citing the results of a survey on workplace flexibility. The findings are based on a survey of around 7,500 employees from India. Delhi-NCR emerged as the top job creator among eight major cities in January-March, generating over 2.6 lakh new employment opportunities in the period, says a report. A total of 8.5 lakh jobs were created in eight major cities across the country, the report said. "Delhi-NCR emerged on top with over 2.6 lakh new jobs created during January to March 2016 followed by Bangalore (1.9 lakh), Mumbai (1.5 lakh), Chennai (82,200) and Hyderabad (60,000).
