mfine, a health-tech AI startup raises $17.2 million in Series B funding led by Japan-based venture capital firm and SBI investment. Healthcare technology firm CitiusTech is looking to more than double its revenue to $500 million in five years on the back of growing investments by hospitals, insurance firms and service providers in the US and Europe in harnessing data to improve services. China’s Tencent Partners with a UK Firm to Boost AI in Health Space

China’s Tencent Holdings is tying up with a technology firm from the United Kingdom called Medopad Ltd to use artificial intelligence for the purpose of improving Parkinson's disease treatment. The company is collaborating with Medopad to develop a system to remotely monitor patients with severe movement disorder. The company said that the basic goal is to allow doctors to set drug doses and modify care without patients having to go to the hospital. Healthcare is increasingly "not only about what happens in the clinic, but what happens in the real world", Wei Fan, Tencent's executive director for medical AI research said. Mfine, a health-tech startup focused predominantly in Artificial Intelligence recently raised a Series A funding round of $4.2 Mn led by Prime Venture Partners. Online Pharmacy Netmeds Raises $14M Funding

Online pharmacy Netmeds has raised USD 14 million (over Rs 90 crore) in the latest round of funding from Cambodian investment holding company Tanncam and venture firm Sistema Asia Fund. Tanncam and Sistema will join early investors investment bank MAPE and OrbiMed Asia, along with Pradeep Dadha and his family, as stakeholders in the company, Netmeds said in a statement.
